Educational and other qualifications required for direct recruits

Essential:

(i)                   Master’s Degree of a recognized University or equivalent.

(ii)                 Master’s Degree or equivalent diploma in Library Science of a recognized University / Institute or equivalent.

(iii)                Fiver years’ professional experience in a supervisory capacity, in a Library or standing and repute.

 

Desirable:

(i)                   Experience of computerizing library activities.

(ii)                 Knowledge of activities of CAPART.

Whether age and educational qualifications prescribed for direct recruits will apply in the case of promotees

Period of probation if any

One year for direct recruits, two years for promotees.

Methods of recruitment whether by direct recruitment or by promotion or by transfer on deputation and percentage of vacancies to be filled by the various methods:

Direct Recruitment or deputation or transfer or promotion or contract basis, which ever is expedient.

In case of recruitment by promotion /transfer/deputation grade from which promotion/ transfer on deputation to be made:

Promotion:  Documentation and Information Officer with five years regular service in the grade.

 

Deputation: Officers under Central / State Govts. / Public Sector Undertakings / Semi Govt., Statutory , Autonomous or Research and Development Organisation:

(a)        (i)         holding analogous post: or

            (ii)         with 5 years service in the scale                         of pay of Rs. 8,000-13,500/- (pre-             revised); or

            (iii)        with 8 ytears service in the post in                         the scale of pay of Rs. 6500-                               10,500/- (pre-revised)

 

(b)        Possessing educational qualifications and experience prescribed for direct recruits under Column 7.
