CAPART INSTITUTE FOR POVERTY ALLEVIATION AND RURAL TECHNOLOGY
Council for Advancement of People’s Action & Rural Technology (CAPART) under the aegis of Ministry of Rural Development have initiated an Institute, CAPART Institute for Poverty Alleviation and Rural Technology (CIPART) at 58, Institutional Area, D Block, Janak Puri, New Delhi.
The Institute has been set up to fulfill CAPART’s mandate to encourage, promote and assist voluntary action and inject new technological inputs in the implementation of rural development projects. The Institute will act as a Resource Centre for NGOs and researchers for conducting need based studies, research, training and workshops for dissemination and demonstration of different technologies. A Knowledge Portal has been created which will serve to the needs of the NGOs and researchers by providing easy access and linkages with other institutions and bodies working in the sector of rural development.
The Institute will conduct need-based research on various aspects of technology adaptation relevant to rural areas. The Institute conducts workshops and training programs as per the training and capacity building requirements of Government Ministries/ Departments, NGOs. The Institute has a library in its premises, which has a collection of about 17000 books relevant to Rural Development. Individuals/ organizations can avail the library facilities on membership basis.
