NGOs MEET on "SANITATION SANKALP SABHA" GRAMEEN VIKAS ANDOLAN AND NIRMAL GRAM ABHIYAN
	A NGOs meet on 'Sanitation Sankalp Sabha' was successfully organized by Council for Advancement of People's Action and Rural Technology (CAPART) in the Auditirium of India Habitat Centre (I.H.C) on 31st July, 2007. The NGOs implementing Grameen Vikas Andolan (GVA) and Nirmal Gram Abhiyan (NGA) had participated in the programme. The workshop was inaugurated by the Hon'ble Minister of Rural Development Shri Raghuvans Prasad Singh. The meet was also addressed by Director General of CAPART Smt. V.S Rao, Secretary - Department of Drinking Water Supply, Ministry of Rural Development. Deputy Director General, CAPART and Regional Representatives and Member Convenors made presentations on the achievements and experiences on Grameen Vikas Andolan. Representatives from one hundred sixty five NGOs from all over India have attended the meet.

Since the actual implementation of GVA started in April 2007, the thrust areas of its operation have been the meaningful development of the 'Village' by providing information through awareness campaign and mobilize the community so as to raise the bargain power of the community resulting into greater accessibility to the various developmental schemes and progarmmes of Ministry of Rural Development.
