WORKSHOP ON

WATER RESOURCE MANAGEMENT

CAPART institute for Poverty Alleviation and Rural Technology (CIPART) organized the first training workshop on Water Resource Management from 21st to 24th April 2009 at its Janakpuri premises. Altogether 41 NGO representatives from the states of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Bihar and Jharkhand participated in the workshop.

Shri Mohammad Haleem Khan, Director General, CAPART, inaugurated the workshop. He explained about the technical details of water cycle along with issues and challenges of water resource management, especially surface water.

 

 

The workshop module is enclosed. The workshop also included a field visit to the Indian Agricultural Research Institute to understand the technologies used in Water Resource Management. A quiz with a cash prize based on the study material provided is an integral part of all the workshops organized at CIPART.

The resource persons were experienced and renowned personalities with academic as well as practical knowledge in various sectors of water management.

The next workshop will be organized from 5th to 14th May 2009 on “Capacity Building of Voluntary Organizations” for the VOs from the states of Kerala, Karnataka, Tamilnadu and Andhra Pradesh.
