Ministry of Rural Development announces awards for Civil Society Organizations Helping in the effective implementation of NREGA |

The Govt. of India has introduced Rojgar Jagrukta Puraskar (RJP) to recognize the outstanding contribution by Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) for promoting effective implementation of the National Rural Guarantee Act (NREGA) in different states of the country. The RJP will be given for outstanding performance in promoting people’s participation, transparency, social audit, monitoring and evaluation. This award will be given at the panchayat level, block level and district level to those CSOs who have successfully worked towards:

Eligibility: |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|
All registered Civil Society Organizations, individually or as a group for activities taken up from their own resources at the district, block and gram panchayat level will be eligible for consideration for the award. CSOs implementing Grameen Vikas Andolan and NREGA awareness generation projects will not be eligible for the awards. In every intermediate panchayat one awardee will be selected and will be given an award of Rs. 1000/ for undertaking the work at the gram panchayat level The award at the intermediate panchayat level will be given @ Rs. 1000/ gram panchayat where the work done is by the CSOs. An additional amount of Rs. 5,000/ will also be given to CSOs when the work of the CSOs extends over at least one-third of the number of the gram panchayats in the intermediate panchayat to be eligible for this award. For the work done at the district level the award will be given @ of 1000/ gram panchayat and an additional amount of Rs. 10,000/ will also be given to the CSOs. To claim the award at the district level, the work of the CSOs should extend over at least one-third of the number of the gram panchayat of the district. |

Modalities: |

| Nomination of the CSOs may be made separately for district, intermediate and gram panchayat level. The nominations should be sent to the District programme coordinators of NREGA in States/Union Territories. All applications should be recommended by the State Govt. and must be made in prescribed format available at www.nrega.nic.in . The application should be accompanied by details of work done by the CSOs, the period and circumstances in which the work was done, the initiatives taken by the CSOs, the benefits derived, and the ways in which the work represents an outstanding and exemplary contribution to the effective implementation of NREGA. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The application with all details duly recommended by the State Govt.(District Programme Co-ordinator, NREGA) may be submitted to the Regional Offices of CAPART. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Applications which do not fulfil the
eligibility criteria will be eliminated and those fulfilling the eligibility
